Black signifies objectivity and functionality – both of which are inherent in the design of the 900 PILOT S pilot watch. But there is a further connection to the colour black: the S in the model name stands for “Schwarz” (black) – signifying the black hard coating of the watch. There is an overriding SINN priority behind this – the suitability of each watch for everyday use. To achieve this we have additionally hardened the satinised stainless steel case using TEGIMENT Technology. The hardening also provides the base to which the high-grade, black PVD coating can be applied. This combined process results in a highly practical benefit: by applying a coating with a hardness of 2,000 HV (Vickers hardness) to the hardened steel (1,500 HV), we prevent the otherwise common problem of cracking paint.
When it comes to features and technologies, SINN's pilot’s watches have been setting the standards since the year dot. A tradition that the Model 900 S PILOT continues seamlessly. At the same time, the watch boasts contemporary new looks, taking its cue from the famous 900 model series. The result: a chronograph that fulfils the biggest requirements in terms of precision and aesthetics. With the Model 900 S PILOT, pilots can wear an extraordinarily useful instrument on their wrist. Ensuring this are the five conversion and indicator scales for European and US American units. The electroplated black dial and case with a 44 mm diameter guarantee perfect readability, even at night, thanks to the backlit appliqués.

The 900 series comprises Sinn's multifunctional model range. The dial displays two time zones and the case back and dial include a multitude of calculation scales for European and American base units. The goal of this series was to create a stately watch with many functions in a diameter of 44mm and a height of 15.5mm. The result speaks for itself. The 900 series watches are truly multifunctional, and offer protection against water, cold, high and low pressure, magnetic fields and scratches. These watches have been given the title of the ‘expedition watches', for obvious reasons.
In addition to its multitude of functions, the watch offers a case that has been protected against abrasion, scratches and wear and tear via Sinn's patented Tegiment steel hardening, and sapphire crystal that has been treated with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal coating ensuring a hardness of 1800 HV. Furthermore, the dial is highly luminous in the dark thanks to the simple and clear orientation of the markers. The amount of tasks that can be performed with the model 900 watch is remarkable, and being remarkable is exactly what this watch was intended to be.
